Springtime

2010 06 06_4557
Happy weekend!!! WooHoo!
This week, I was going through some pictures on my computer and I found some of our landscape photos that I took last year.  I like to see the progress of all our plants.

We built our house almost 4 years ago and it is still a work in progress.

I love watching it all grow!

I can’t believe the difference one year can make!!!

I am actually not a big gardener.  Not because I don’t want to be,  it is just hard to do anything outside with my little boys on the loose, ha!  Maybe this year will be easier. :)  Last year, my parents came out to help me.

A lot needs to be done this year, we need to start soon!

Some of these boxwoods got damaged by our huge snow storm.  I hope they will be ok!

I want to take out these hostas and put in roses or something.

Even Michael looks so little here!  Wow!  What a difference a year makes.  I can’t believe he will be 4 this month!!
(I am not sure where his shoes went, lol….boys!)

I can’t wait for it to actually stay nice over here so we can get to work!
Have you started any yard work or planting yet?
Enjoy your weekend!! :)

  2. I'll take your hostas...ha! The first spring/summer we lived in our house, my husband was deployed so I was in charge of the yardwork...by default. I had a prize-worthy hosta that had more blooms than any other hosta in the neighborhood. It was so pretty! In the fall, when my husband got back it had already "gone away" for the year. He thought it was a weed and threw it away! Boo!

  4. Yes, I started my yard even though it's still raining, shining and blowing here in Idaho! We built our new home 2 1/2 years ago and I'm still asking myself when are we going to be finished? Is there such a thing? Have a great weekend! Kim

  5. OOo.. come on spring!.. Almost all of our snow was gone here and then last weekend we had a big snow storm and it was all back again... We were hoping to rake the grass out in front of our house last weekend and to start doing some spring cleanup out there... it'll be a few more sunny days yet before we can really get at it!.. for the back yard it'll be a few weeks before the snow is all gone from there!.. :(

  6. I'll bet you have the prettiest yard in the neighborhood! So pretty! Your little almost 4 year old is so handsome!!!! '
My husband is mowing. He mowed the lawn around the house, about an acre, the other day. Today, he's mowing the other 6 acres. He does that part with a tractor. Then he'll mow his dad's yard. I do very little yard work. I'd rather be sewing.

  7. YOur yard looks so pretty! My hubby and I both do the yardwork, one person could never keep up with it all! It is VERY hard living in the wooods....which I NEVER wanted to do but have been here over 25 years now. I tell him this is my purgatory on earth:):) I would give anything to be able to grow a cutting garden of flowers since I am a FLORAL DESIGNER!!!!!!AAUUGGHH!!!! It is STARTING to warm up here in Pa. and I plan to buy and plant some pansies tomorrow!!!! XO, Pinky

  8. We've spend several weekends tidying up our flower beds & doing landscaping, including today. If you're intersted in roses you may want to try the Knock Out Roses. They're really low maintenance & are so pretty & bloom ALL THE TIME!!

  9. I really haven't had time to get into our "garden" yet, mostly because of the rain :( but the tulips we planted last fall are coming in! It's the first thing I've ever planted and I'm shocked they're actually growing! This gives me confidience to do more!

  10. It got up to almost 90 this weekend here in the Dallas area. We were actually HOT! We were able to plant a small vegetable garden and some flowers. I, too, LOVE the spring! Reminds me of God's love & faithfulness.
    Blessings~
