Hello everyone! I hope that you are enjoying your week! We have been really busy with family events. :) When we are busy, I house seems to fall apart really quickly!! I am not sure what happens but we are in and out so much and it’s hard to keep things in line.
One of the ways that I try to keep a clean is house is to go to bed with it clean and tidy!
If I take the extra time at night to pick up, we wake up feeling great and less stressed! :) My kids go to bed at 7pm so I have time to clean up and relax with my hubs!
Then I can spend my day doing activities, projects, homework, cooking, etc. and not worry about the house as much.
I clear and wash the counter.
I do all the dishes. Sometimes my hubby helps with that! :)
I don’t like a lot on my counters…I like to KEEP IT SIMPLE!
I listen to my music while I clean…that totally helps me! :)
I wash out the sink!
Get the coffee ready.
I have the kids help clean the family room before they go to bed.
So, that is how I try to keep a clean house and a less stressed morning! :)
Do I do this every night?
No, but I try to and when I do, I feel so much better!!!
What is you trick to keeping a clean home?
Bonnie
Great post! I was inspired to keep less things out on my counters. I am not good at that usually. If we use it a lot...it stays out (if its an appliance..blender, mixer, toaster, etc.) but it always leaves the kitchen looking cluttered and it makes me feel SO overwhelmed when there's a single dish in the sink because then my kitchen just looks nasty! I'm totally gonna stash some stuff away now. Oh and I try and at least have my kitchen cleaned and wiped down and the toys from my kids put away. That helps A TON!
ReplyDeleteOh I am with you. I try to straighten up the familyroom, and after dinner I always clean the kitchen and fix the coffee pot for morning. Bathrooms I try to wipe down on a daily basis. The hubs clothes laying on the chair before he goes to bed is the one thing that drives me nuts in the morning, so when I make the bed, I put all of his clothes and shoes away. Still don't have him trained. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I am going to have to do this. I hate waking up and seeing stuff everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you! I hate waking up to a mess! Your house is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSOOO love this when I do it too!! I feel lighter and ready for the day when I wake up to a clean house. A good reminder for me to do it more often..
ReplyDeleteI so agree! I love waking up in the morning feeling like everything is in order! It just gets the day off on the right foot!
ReplyDeleteI do this too. I hate waking up to a mess. Our house doesn't really get mESSY but we live in the woods and the hubs tracks stuff in constantly!!!!!!!!!! I could vacuum 3 or 4 times a day!
ReplyDeleteI too love clean clear uncluttered counters and waking up with a head start by doing what I can before bed to make life easy tomorrow. :) I love how tidy and perfect your house always looks on here. Shiny and ready for anything.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great posts Bonnie!
Just wanted to leave a short comment to say.. you're kitchen and dining area is just beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend,
Sherri
Great idea! I have tried to do this in the past, and I agree it makes a huge difference. My only problem - I haven't made it a habit yet. :)
ReplyDeletePS - I love, love, love your dining table & chairs!!
Yes this is true!! I am not a morning person, so getting up I am already dragging, but coming down to a clean kitchen puts that extra pep in my step! Your home is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I think I definitely feel less stressed when I come down to a clean kitchen and family room. It makes it easier to find things and just get out on time.
ReplyDeletedo you have any advice on the bedtime routine? Honestly I am in awe of the fact that your kids go to bed so early. This is such an issue in our house.
I try to put my kitchen to bed every night. I have been a homecare nurse for years and one of the things that I was told by a sweet lady a long time ago was to put my kitchen to bed every night. She encouraged me to not wake up to a messy kitchen with a sink full of dishes, I have been known to stay up after midnight to do this but in the morning I love to wake up to a clean kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie! OH, you're not only the prettiest but you're just the smartest one~ :) This is a great idea! I did so much better at keeping things picked up when my children were little and at home. Now I'm old and can be lazy! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
I also try to do this however, with teenage kids now that stay up later than me, it isn't as easy. I always wake up to dishes in the sink because I started the dishwasher before I went to bed and they continue to eat afterwards!! A quick run through the house before bedtime as well as setting things out for breakfast the next morning really helps to make a smoother morning!
ReplyDeleteBonnie -
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog!!! This is a great post - it has inspired me to tidy up before going to bed as well. It has been great to wake up to everything fresh and clean for the day.
I love your design style. It is great to get decorating ideas from other bloggers. Quick question... where did you find the drapes for your sliding doors? I live in Florida and have three sliding doors - they all have vertical blinds which I hate and I'm looking for a nice alternative. What you have is just what I've been looking for.
Thanks!
Beth
