Healthier Easter Basket Fillers

Hello!  Are you busy getting ready for Easter?
I just got  back from Trader Joe’s and wanted to share with you some of the “healthier” items I am putting in the kids Easter Baskets this year.  I don’t give my kids a lot of junk and sugar so I am always looking for better/healthier choices.
This is what I found…

Haha!  Do you think I am the meanest bunny ever? lol!  But, trust me, my kids will LOVE getting apple sauce, ha!

They love bars!  (I guess the Easter bunny loves TJ’s as much as me, lol!)

More bars.

These are cute little packs of trail mix without the sugar!

Ok…here is the sugar.  I only got this because we went to the TJ’s Easter Egg hunt and we won them.  (Don’t worry, the kids didn’t see this one…I am sneaky!)

They love these lollipops and they are made from real fruit!

They love crackers!

They also really like their fruit strips.

I also found some fun, kid stuff at my neighbor’s garage sale!  SWEET!!! :)  I will add this stuff to their baskets.

They will LOVE everything!!
And all of this is healthy!!!
What is your “Easter Bunny” bringing?
Do you make “healthier” baskets?
Have a great day!

  2. Fun!! I still am trying to get everything together for ours! I try to limit the candy too. I found some organic graham cracker snacks and some fruit strips. Trader Joes is quite a drive for me (wish there was one closer), but I'll definitely have to remember to look there for next year (and other holidays). Love all of the craft stuff too!

  3. We found the jelly beans at Trader Joe's too. They also have Organic Bunny Gummy Tummies and Friends, which are spring shaped gummy snacks. My husband gave it to the kids to try already :)

  4. Oh my Gosh that is such a good idea! I always avoid making/buying baskets because of the candy and junk. Honestly never thought to create a healthy one :P I WILL be doing this! Thanks for the tip.

  6. What a great idea for Easter treats, I love it. And I'm sure you're kids will even more. BTW, that was quite the garage sale load you had, oh my word!! Hope it went well.

  7. Love the ideas Bonnie! With having older kids I try to get them things other than candy as well. I normally will buy them one chocolate bunny because my son LOVES these!! This year I got him something for his gaming and I bought my daugther a gift card to use with her Ipod - I know it isn't crafty or anything educational but when they were smaller I did do coloring books and books to read. I always gave them a little candy a few things but filled the basket with other items they would love and could use!
