Last week, we were cleaning out the fridge and decided to make homemade applesauce!
We usually do this a lot in the fall with fresh picked apples but we were in the mood! :)
I use this fancy cutter. We like it chunky with the skins on (more fiber).
So pretty! I also have the Pampered Chef peeler/cutter but this works too!
It is so easy and fun!
We just put everything in a pot.
All we did was add a little water. Sometimes we add cinnamon too! You do NOT need to add sugar!!
Then we enjoy! :)
This is so yummy and healthy!

Yummy! I made have to try this. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie! I LOVE homemade applesauce. I too NEVER use sugar in mine. While I make mine, i use just enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. When it's done I add cinnamon and sometimes a little pumpkin pie spice or something fun and then mash it with my potato masher. Turns out great each time!!!
ReplyDeleteI am horrible and put sugar in mine;) I am trying to cut back...but we'll see.
ReplyDeleteI just put in my Shaklee order!! I can't wait to get cleaning ☺
I make mine as easy as yours! I have a apple corer/slicer I got as a wedding gift and i use that so it's slices it for me. I put it all in my pot with a little water, and then I just my immersion blender. I made Elia's babyfood apples this way. I did add a little cinnamon and cloves to a second batch for Elia. We all love it! I don't know why anyone would buy applesauce from the store with all the junk they put in it. I try to use Gala, Braeburn or Honeycrisp apples!!!:)
