Well, it was that time of year again, the time where we need to pressure wash our house again. We usually do it once or twice a year. Since we live kind of close to several ponds, we get a LOT of bugs! It makes our house look like a haunted house a year, lol!
I wanted to share this post with you because several people have asked me what I use to wash my house. You will probably not be surprise that I use Basic H for this.
I upgraded to the large bottle this time since we have been gardening and for the fact that we go through this stuff more than most people. I even bathe my kids in it. Oh yes, now you think I am totally crazy! Don’t you? Well, I wasn’t even go to tell you that but I started telling some friends and they loved that idea and was so glad that I told them. Ha, I was embarrassed by that and yet, it makes sense. It is organic (so it won’t harm us), it cleans my kiddos (I do use it too) and it cleans the bath at the same time. I have NEVER had to clean soap scum in my bath!!! NEVER!!!! Which is nice because I don’t have time to do that anyway and then I don’t have to worry about chemicals left around the tub and then the kids soaking in them.
Anyway, back to this post. This is what I used…
I also used our pressure washer that we got on clearance last fall for $100. If you are looking to get one, hopefully clearance will start soon!!
This is what our house looked like before…I told you it was nasty!
We (I mean my husband, lol) just put some Basic H in the pressure washer and got to work. It took of ALL the disgusting stuck on bug poop too and that stuff is was caked on and is usually hard to remove!
Here is another before.
Ah, much better!
Gross before.
Clean after.
Before.
After.
Here is a photo of my hubby at work! What a guy….Thanks babe!
The kids played outside while he worked.
He didn’t have to scrub at all.
It was worth the work!!!
I love not looking the like haunted house anymore!
Way better! We should of done this a while ago!
Sweet!!!
Yup, I am a happy girl! Now I just need that rose bush to come back to life, lol!
So, that’s how we wash our house chemical free! Oh, we also saved a whole lot of money by doing this ourselves and by using Basic H.
Do you wash the outside of your home?
How often?
Do you hire someone?
Do you need to clean your outside again?
Are you looking like the haunted house of your neighborhood?
Do the bugs like your house or stay away?
Have a great day! :)

I found a new heavy duty washer for fantastic deal at a unclaimed freight store. I LOVE IT! I did our gutters, (we still need to replace them but they look better) with it, the driveway, our deck, everything! We just got new siding last Jan and this spring I started working over my landscaping. When I go out and water my plants I'll spray down the front of the house w/ the sprayer on the hose. I'll probably need something next spring to clean with (maybe by then I'll get some basic H) and give it a good spring clean?
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I know we don't get as many bugs as that. I also like using the Basic H for EVERYTHING.
ReplyDeletese ve bien limpita tu casa por fuera es ideal tus productos lastima que no se comercialicen en españa o si?? Bss josefa.
ReplyDeleteSo, how do you use the Basic H for your kids? Now that you mentioned it, you can give the details. :)
ReplyDeleteSo, one way to keep those bugs away is to spray spider spray all over your house, and put a little soap in it so it sticks to your house. It's awesome and it works! I know it's not organic, but it sure works. Thanks, love your site!
ReplyDeleteWe live in the country and the outside of our house gets covered in bugs, especially spider webs. Swallows are also attracted ot our porches and attempt to build their muddy little nests on our eaves. Once our temps are consistently under 100 degrees F, we'll get outside and blast them! Thanks for the motivating pics!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I hadn't thought of that. What great results.
ReplyDeleteI would love to know details of how you use Basic H to bathe your kiddos;)
It looks great! What was your Basic H solution?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments ladies!
ReplyDeleteLeigh,
I think we used 1T for the whole thing.
Bonnie :)
For those of you wondering about the bath...
ReplyDeleteI just squirt some full-strength Basic H in the tub while the water is running. It suds up, the kids love it, it doesn't hurt their eyes and leaves the bathtub shiny clean!! :)
Bonnie :)
I can't wait to get a pressure washer again. We let our neighbor borrow ours a couple of years ago and he burnt the motor out...ugh!! We have borrowed one of our friends' pressure washer a couple of times, but I just used plain water to wash off the porch and the back of the house (we get a lot of bugs too). Next time, I am definitely going to use some Basic H.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on using the Basic H for bathtime! I might just have to purchase the bigger bottle the next time I order!
This reminds me I need to clean off our porch - IT IS NASTY!! Do you use a hopper for the soap on your pressure washer. I think our "soap hopper" is lost :( Hopefully this will get checked off my to do list soon!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! First time to read a post like this. Thank you as you give me cleaning house tips.

Thanks for the tip about the use of the basis for the production of the h! I might just have to buy a large bottle next time that you can order!
