Since it got colder this past week, I have thinking of a way to organize our hats, gloves and scarves.
I wanted an easy way to run out the door with the right set of gloves.
I went through each person’s things and bought new ones if needed (on sale of course!)
Now Grace has a pink, purple and white sets and the boys have blue, black, brown and grey.
We are set!
Then, I cleared a shelf in my coat closet and labeled a bin for each of us.
I left the lids off of the bins so I can easily through them back in when we get home.
This is really helpful for me because now I can grab and go.
I don’t have to worry about getting Michael’s and Matthew’s hats and gloves mixed up and I now I have a “spot” for each item.
It’s these simple kinds of things that help keep my life in order and getting to places on time, lol!
How do you organize your winter accessories?
I would love to hear your tips!
Have a great week!
Bonnie :)
I need something like this!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. We don't have a coat closet, so the kids' stuff goes on a shelf in their closet. We always try to keep a thinner pair of gloves in our pockets in case we forget.
ReplyDeleteHi there! It pays to be organized. I need to create a system of some sort because right now our winter belongings (I'm ashamed to say) are pretty much in a winter pile on the top shelf of the coat closet. Kudos to you for taking the steps. I need to do the same fast because I do not like being unorganized lol!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! And I hate it when the mixs up happen.
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together
This is such a super way to organize for ease! We keep each person's mittens and hats in their coat pockets. They have to double check that their pockets are full of mittens before hanging them up in the coat closet lol.
ReplyDeleteAlso, do you have special promotions every month for Shaklee or is this November special unique? If you do, what is the December special? Thanks!
Great system. Gives me some motivation for my own home. Definitely need some organizing because things are just falling out all over the place lol!
ReplyDeleteI like it. Ours are all just in one bin on the loset shelf. Ussually I have the big kids keep a set in thier school backpacks so that if it gets colder during the day then they have a set.
ReplyDeleteI need this! what a great idea...i'm always wondering where to put mollys little baby mittons! My coat closet also needs a good cleaning so thanks for the motivation!
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't have any ideas yet but I am thinking about it. I have a basket in our coat closet but it's not really organized and it's harder with the two kids now. I need to do something and it's on my list. love your idea!
ReplyDeleteI bought a dark wicker basket with a lining and a lid to keep all the winter gear in right by the door. It looks decorative and everything is in one spot.
ReplyDeleteI've never been able to make bins work for us since the mittens and hats are usually wet when we come back in the house. Hmmm, maybe wall mounted wire baskets would be better for us.
ReplyDeletePS...I got my first Shaklee order this week. Love the Basic H. The scouring paste wasn't the miracle I'd hoped for in our shower (we get scum build up from pooling water unless the whole thing is towel-dried each time -- bad design!), but pretty good as well. I'm sure I'll find other uses for it.
I just wanted you to know I am enjoying my Shaklee cleaning stuff so much. I have decided to get the kit for my daughter in laws for christmas, I know they will love it as much as me. So come Dec 1st I will be putting in that order. I am useing up all my other cleaners right now then I plan to go all Shaklee....
ReplyDeletewe do this, too. just don't have room for all 7 bins. something to work on. :)
ReplyDeleteI have the same bins but I keep lids on them so they'll stack (storage is a premium in my coat closet). I keep one bin for him and one for me and it stores both winter and summer gear in them (visors for me in the summer and visors/caps for him). I keep my son's coat and hat on the coat rack on the wall so it's all ready to go. I only go into the bin for a change of seasons.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea~!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have "winter" here in So. Cal, but I really love your idea and if we did I'd do something like that! Very clever!! I have a little organizing bench and shelf area in our back entry with baskets and that holds each kids stuff and their jackets. In the summer, it holds swim bags and wet towels.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comments!
