How I Use What I Have

2010 12 10_1421
This year, I decided NOT to buy any new Christmas decorations…not even from the Goodwill or Dollar Store!
I bought a lot over the summer from garage sales so I didn’t want to spend ANY MORE MONEY!
So, I went “shopping” in my basement.
I found these Pottery Barn candlesticks that I bought from a garage sale this year.  I wanted to paint them black but I had a new idea instead.

I also found my old, gold ornaments.

I found this can of spray paint in my garage and got to work.

Am I  craziest person in the world?  I was spray painting in 20 degree weather.

The candlesticks turned out great!

They were exactly how I imagined.

I also loved how the ornaments turned out.

I wanted to fill a glass bowl for a centerpiece!

Can’t beat this!
How did you use what you have this year?
Have a great weekend!

  4. I LOOVE them!!

I now live in southern CA and it is always OK to spray paint but I too have spray painted in 20 degree weather. YOU are far from crazy:)

Last year this time we lived in a tiny tiny house. I had three trees passed down to me: one small (table top) one cute little decorative and one huge full size. We now live in this HUMONGOUS house. So glad I saved all three trees when people thought I was crazy:)

  5. Candlesticks look awesome! I bought some things. Our house is much bigger than our last one so I find we don't have alot. I am hoping to hit some after Christmas sales this year.

  6. Bonnie, these look great! You would think they're an expensive find, not a yardsale makeover! I've spraypainted a thing or two in the basement since the weather's been below freezing. :)
